“The gamble here was not just to make a good wine, but to make a great red wine in an area known for its whites. Sergio Mottura has succeeded, and each time I taste this blend … it’s as exciting as the very first time!” (Shigeru Hayashi)
A ruby red wine, it has a herby bouquet with strong notes of tobacco and mint and undertones of liquorice, pepper and coffee on the finish. Full-bodied and distinctly salty with elegant tannins and good overall persistence.
We suggest serving it with roast meat and stews: shoulder of lamb, goat, roast pork, wild boar and juniper berry stew, turkey legs wrapped in pancetta.
